In August, Nottingham Forest made a €12m (£10.4m) offer for André Luiz, a 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder whose performance had reportedly impressed the club's scouts. The bid was rejected by Corinthians, who made a counterproposal. Discussions involving intermediaries about different financial structures followed, but an agreement was not reached before the transfer window closed. Reports in Brazil had suggested a January move remained a possibility. However, the player's agent, Diogo Silva, has confirmed that a transfer to Forest will not occur. The agent stated that Forest and owner Evangelos Marinakis chose to sign Gustavo Puerta instead. Puerta was also a player of interest to Olympiacos, a Greek club owned by Marinakis. Forest have since ended their interest in André, and Corinthians are now looking for new offers for the player. André joined Corinthians in August 2025, has a contract until the end of 2029, and a Transfermarkt market value of €16.00m. He has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in 18 appearances in the current Série A season. Newcastle United and Milan have also been linked with the midfielder in the past.
