As the summer transfer window approaches, West Ham United are being linked with a number of players, most recently Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford. Our analysis of the past seven days shows the club has been tied to seven possible arrivals and three potential exits. The hottest storyline right now concerns Taylor Harwood-Bellis, but below are the latest updates on the most important transfer rumours surrounding the club.
James Trafford
According to a report from Football Insider on Saturday, English goalkeeper James Trafford will consider leaving Manchester City this summer, with West Ham United and Newcastle named among the teams linked with him. Trafford, who joined City from Burnley in July 2025 and has a contract until 2030, has made three appearances in the Premier League this season. Reports from February 2026 stated that Manchester City values the player at £30 million.
Antonio Rüdiger
Talks have been held with West Ham United, Crystal Palace, and Tottenham Hotspur regarding German international centre-back Antonio Rüdiger, according to a TEAMtalk report on Wednesday. The 32-year-old is reportedly looking to return to the Premier League this summer when his Real Madrid contract expires. His former club Chelsea has ruled out a move. Rüdiger, who has 81 caps for Germany, joined Real Madrid on a free transfer in July 2022 and has made seven appearances in LaLiga this season.
Charlie Cresswell
On Saturday, Ekrem Konur reported that West Ham are monitoring Toulouse center back Charlie Cresswell and that a bid exceeding €30 million could be enough to secure a deal. This follows a report from Team Talk on Thursday which stated that the Hammers attempted to sign Cresswell in January and could try again this summer.
Samuel Chukwueze
West Ham United are reportedly one of the clubs interested in a potential summer transfer for Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze. According to a Fichajes report on Wednesday, the Hammers have made enquiries about the 26-year-old, who is currently on loan at Fulham from AC Milan. The report adds that Milan could sell Chukwueze permanently for a fee around €30m and that a move for the player may depend on West Ham avoiding relegation.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis
Southampton center back Taylor Harwood-Bellis, a target for West Ham, will seek a transfer at the end of the season after a January move failed to materialise, according to Alan Nixon on Tuesday. Nixon also reported on Sunday that West Ham's interest will continue into the summer and that a potential departure for Harwood-Bellis is dependent on offers of more than £15 million. It is expected that the defender will re-evaluate his future at the end of the season.
Žan Vipotnik
Swansea were very reluctant to approve a transfer for Žan Vipotnik during the January window and set a price of £15m for the 23-year-old striker, which appeared to deter suitors as no serious approach was made, according to a report on Saturday. Swansea's Vitor Matos admitted that more clubs are likely to become interested in Vipotnik if he maintains his goalscoring form.
Callum Marshall
There is discussion about whether Callum Marshall will return to West Ham United in the summer, with a report on Thursday suggesting VfL Bochum may try to keep him if he continues to perform well. Marshall commented that "one never knows what will happen," adding that "everything can change so quickly" and that what happens "remains to be seen."
