West Ham, a relegated club, is among several teams interested in Real Betis' 26-year-old Colombian midfielder Nelson Deossa. Other clubs that have shown interest include the newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town, Brazilian clubs Vasco da Gama and Flamengo, and River Plate.
Real Betis seeks to recover at least the €11.3 million they invested in the player. River Plate's approach did not meet the financial demands of the Spanish club; it reportedly considered a loan with an option to buy. Deossa joined Real Betis in August 2025 from Monterrey for a fee that is confirmed to be €13M and his contract is valid until 2030. He made 20 appearances in LaLiga during the 2025/2026 season and has not been capped by the Colombian national team. His current Transfermarkt market value is €9.00m.
