VfL Wolfsburg and Everton are both interested in signing Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Alebiosu in January. The 24-year-old full-back has drawn interest from clubs in the top divisions in England and Germany due to his performances for Valerien Ismael’s team this season, for whom he has made 20 appearances, scoring one goal, and providing two assists in the Championship. It is also believed that Italian clubs Sassuolo and Genoa are interested in the player.
Wolfsburg are reportedly keen to sign Alebiosu this month. The defender is understood to be available for approximately £4 million, months after he joined the Championship side from the Belgian club Kortrijk for an undisclosed fee. A transfer is considered unlikely while the Nigeria international competes at AFCON in Morocco. The final of that competition is on January 18, which means any transfer could happen later in the window. Alebiosu signed a three-year contract when he joined Blackburn last summer. The contract runs until 2028 and gives the club leverage in negotiations. His current valuation on Transfermarkt is €1.20m.
