Gokhan Inler, who is responsible for Udinese's technical area, revealed in an interview with beINSPORT that the club had considered signing 23-year-old Italian international Fabio Miretti. He explained that they were unable to proceed with a move for the Juventus midfielder because their midfield department was already full. This interest from Udinese occurred before Miretti's prospective transfer to Besiktas. The club had concretely evaluated the player but lacked the space to finalize a deal.

Miretti, who has one cap for Italy, has also drawn interest from other clubs such as Bologna and Fiorentina. Recent reports in August 2026 concerning the move to Beşiktaş value the total package at between €10 million and €15 million, while Juventus's asking price for interested clubs in mid-2026 was reportedly set at €15 million.
