Trabzonspor has made initial exploratory contacts to ask about the conditions for acquiring Luka Jović, a 28-year-old Serbian centre-forward, from AEK. No official offer has been submitted. In response to the interest, AEK is reportedly unwilling to lose the player. The club is in advanced discussions with him for a contract extension until the summer of 2029. AEK's offer involves a salary increase of approximately 20%, which would bring his annual earnings to almost 3 million euros.

The interest from Trabzonspor is not new. A year prior, Jović's father had revealed that both the Trabzon-based club and Besiktas had shown interest. The situation is currently at the exploratory stage. Trabzonspor continues to consider Jović as a potential leader for their attack for the next season. Jović joined AEK in August 2025 and has a contract that runs until June 30, 2027. He scored 16 goals and made one assist in 24 appearances during the 2025/2026 Super League 1 season. The Serbian international has 52 caps and 11 goals for his country. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €9.00m.
