Torino is targeting Italian centre-back Caleb Okoli, 24, who is currently with Leicester, for the next season. Last summer, Bologna and Milan also pursued the central defender, but their approaches were rejected. The two clubs had proposed a loan with an option to buy. In January, Parma also unsuccessfully attempted to sign the player.
Torino, with its sporting director Petrachi, is reportedly prepared to act on a potential opportunity for Okoli to return to Italian football. This potential return could be facilitated by his current club's risk of relegation. The player is also said to be motivated by a desire to return to Serie A in order to be selected for the Italian national team, for which he has not yet played. Okoli joined Leicester in July 2024 and has made 29 appearances and scored one goal in the Championship this season. His contract is valid until 2029, and his market value on Transfermarkt is €12.00m.
