Sparta Praha has signed 25-year-old midfielder Andrew Irving from West Ham. Irving is a Scottish international with one cap for his country and made 17 Premier League appearances for the English side. Before moving to England, Irving played for Austria Klagenfurt in the Austrian Bundesliga from 2022. West Ham acquired him a year later for a fee of €1.8 million but loaned him back to the Austrian club for one more season.
The signing marks Sparta's third acquisition of the January transfer window. Norwich City and Wrexham were also recently linked with the player. In the summer of 2025, a deal with Wrexham, reported to be for £3.5 million, collapsed. Additionally, an offer from Celtic of over €2 million was reportedly rejected by West Ham in August 2025. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €5.00m.
