Championship club Sheffield United is considering bringing 27-year-old Bosnian international Anel Ahmedhodžić back to England this summer, as the club looks at several options to strengthen its central defense. The Feyenoord defender is one of the options being considered. Ahmedhodžić previously played for the English club after joining from Malmö FF in 2022, contributing significantly to their promotion to the Premier League before he left for Rotterdam.

Earlier this summer, reports suggested that Feyenoord would be willing to cooperate with a departure and also mentioned Southampton as a possible destination. Ahmedhodžić is open to a return, having a connection with the club and the city, where his two children were born. He could be available for around five million pounds, which would reportedly make him a much cheaper option than Harry Souttar, who is also on Sheffield United's list. The defender has 24 caps for Bosnia-Herzegovina and is under contract with Feyenoord until 2029. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €10.00m.
