Sevilla interested in loan move for Elye Wahi

The Spanish club has initiated discussions for a winter transfer to strengthen their attack.

Sevilla is interested in signing French-Ivorian forward Elye Wahi from Eintracht Frankfurt on loan during the winter transfer window to strengthen their attack, as coach Matías Almeyda currently only has Isaac Romero available with Akor Adams at the Africa Cup of Nations. Sevilla has initiated discussions for the loan of the forward, who will turn 23 in early January. Lens, where Wahi previously had his best season, also wants to re-sign him. Wahi joined the German club in January 2025 and is under contract until 2030. His playing time has reportedly diminished, and he has recorded one goal and one assist in the Bundesliga this season.

Sevilla's sporting director, Antonio Cordón, is pursuing a loan until the end of the season, which is the only viable option due to the club's significant financial issues. The club will also need to make a position available in their squad to accommodate a new signing, a move that aligns with Almeyda's public and private requests for a new forward. The player's current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €12.00m, a notable decrease from the reported €26-29 million fee paid by Frankfurt in January 2025.
