Scottish winger Sam Nicholson is leaving Motherwell to join Championship side Livingston on a pre-contract agreement for the next season. The move was confirmed one day after Nicholson contributed to Motherwell securing a fourth-place finish and European football. In a statement, Livingston announced the signing of the 32-year-old, subject to standard SFA approvals, and added that he has significant experience from playing in Scotland, England, and the United States. Livingston also noted that he will provide pace, creativity, and quality to the squad.
According to the Motherwell website, Nicholson thanked the club, fans, players, and coaches for his time there, mentioned a difficult period with a complicated injury, and expressed gratitude for the support he was given. Nicholson has been capped 8 times for the Scotland U21 team and joined Motherwell in January 2024. His current market value is €100k, according to Transfermarkt.
