After a loan spell at Fulham, 27-year-old Samuel Chukwueze was expected to leave AC Milan, with the club considering his sale to raise funds. The Nigerian international, who has 59 caps and 7 goals for his country, had attracted interest from several clubs in recent weeks, including Fulham, Trabzonspor, Bologna, and Fiorentina.
However, the situation has changed following the arrival of new coach Rúben Amorim. Amorim has confirmed his plan to keep the player. The coach stated in an interview with PianetaMilan that Chukwueze will remain with the team because they need players with his one-on-one abilities. This decision has ended the transfer speculation surrounding the winger. Chukwueze, who joined Milan from Villarreal in July 2023 for a reported €20 million plus bonuses, has a contract until June 2028 and a current Transfermarkt market value of €18 million. Before Amorim's decision, a reported €15 million offer from Trabzonspor in June 2026 was considered too low, while Milan's asking price earlier in the year was reportedly around €30 million.
