Gian Piero Gasperini is reportedly interested in bringing 24-year-old English winger Mason Greenwood to Roma next season. The Friedkin family might fund a signing for another striker if the club qualifies for the Champions League, following the acquisition of Donyell Malen. The Marseille player is valued at 50 million euros, and securing a discount is considered difficult due to a percentage of any future sale being owed to Manchester United.

The relationship between Roma and Marseille is described as excellent, evidenced by the recent transfer of Robinio Vaz to the Italian club. It is noted that Greenwood was previously close to joining Lazio some years ago. While any discussions are currently considered premature, an intention to begin talks exists. Roma's American ownership has a history of completing major signings like Dybala and Lukaku that have pleased the fanbase. Several other clubs have also been linked with Greenwood, including Atlético Madrid, Juventus, and Tottenham Hotspur. The player has one cap for England and joined Marseille from Manchester United in July 2024 for a reported €26 million.
