Roma is targeting Brighton's Swedish midfielder Yasin Ayari, but faces competition for the 22-year-old player. Borussia Dortmund has also taken concrete initial steps to try to gain an advantage over the Italian club. A Scandinavian media outlet reported that D'Amico has contacted Brighton to understand the feasibility of a potential transfer. Roma's idea is to structure the deal as a loan with an option to buy, a formula that would allow the investment to be spread out.

This solution does not initially appear to convince the English club, which prefers a permanent sale and has no necessity to sell, particularly with other players like Baleba and Minteh potentially leaving. Ayari, who also holds Tunisian citizenship, joined Brighton in January 2023 and his contract runs until June 2027. He has earned 25 caps and scored 5 goals for Sweden, with a current Transfermarkt market value of €40.00m.
