Japanese central midfielder Reo Hatate, 28, has completed a permanent transfer from Celtic to EFL Championship side Burnley, signing a three-year deal at Turf Moor. The midfielder made 191 appearances for the club since joining from Kawasaki Frontale in 2022. After the move, Hatate said it was a great step for him and his first time playing in England, adding that Burnley is a fantastic club to join. In August 2026, reports suggested Celtic's asking price was around €14.2 million (£12m); his initial transfer from Kawasaki Frontale to Celtic in January 2022 was for a fee of €1.5 million.
