With his contract expiring in less than a week, 34-year-old Swiss midfielder Remo Freuler has received a renewal proposal from Bologna, which has been attempting to extend his deal for several months. In addition to his current club's offer, there is also interest in Freuler from Roma, Juventus, and clubs in Saudi Arabia. At least two teams from the German Bundesliga have also contacted the player, with one of them being VfL Wolfsburg. Freuler has requested another two to three days to provide a response.
The Switzerland international, who has 90 caps and 11 goals for his country, made 29 appearances for Bologna in Serie A during the 2025/2026 season, scoring one goal and providing two assists. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €3.00m. His most recent transfer was from Nottingham Forest to Bologna in July 2024 for a reported €4.5 million, following a €9.0 million move from Atalanta to Nottingham Forest in August 2022.
