Oumar Diakité, aged 22, has returned from a loan spell at Cercle Bruges and is reportedly not part of the plans of his club, Stade de Reims, which plays in Ligue 2. The player is expected to move to England in the near future. Several Championship clubs are competing for the Ivorian attacker, and Queens Park Rangers, Preston, and Bolton have been mentioned among the interested parties. The estimated value of the transfer is between €3 million and €3.5 million.

Speculation about ongoing talks with English clubs has been fueled by Diakité's agent, Marc Benson, being recently seen in the UK in a social media story. The player has reportedly declined proposals from Turkey. Schalke 04 was also previously interested in his profile, which is a detail Africafoot had also revealed. Diakité joined Reims in July 2023 and has a contract with the club until 2028. He has made 31 appearances for the Ivory Coast, scoring 6 goals. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated to be €5.00m.
