Real Oviedo interested in signing Cédric Bakambu

The Real Betis forward is a potential transfer target for several Spanish and foreign clubs.

Real Oviedo and Alavés are two of the Spanish clubs most interested in 34-year-old centre-forward Cédric Bakambu. The potential transfer is related to his current club, Real Betis, needing to generate salary space in order to sign a new forward in the winter market. Several foreign clubs, including some from the Italian league, have also inquired about the Congolese player.

However, a move could be complicated by an injury to 'Cucho' that is expected to give Bakambu a more prominent role in the team for several weeks. The DR Congo international, who has 66 caps and 21 goals, joined Betis in February 2024, and his contract is set to expire in June 2026. This season in LaLiga, he has scored one goal in seven appearances. His current Transfermarkt market value is €1.40m, while reports from January and June 2025 indicated Betis's asking price was around €2 million.
