Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is under contract until 2027, is expected to leave Olympique de Marseille, with his name being linked to Çorum, a club newly promoted to the Turkish Süper Lig. Former Gabon manager Patrice Neveu believes Olympique de Marseille no longer has plans for the player. The club is attempting to recover approximately 1.5 million euros from a transfer. Neveu stated that a move to Çorum would surprise him, explaining that while a move to Turkey is possible, he would envision it being to a more prestigious club.
He finds it hard to imagine the 37-year-old Gabonese centre-forward joining a team likely to be in a relegation battle, noting that the sporting project and living conditions are important considerations for the player. However, Neveu also acknowledged that Aubameyang could decide to sign quickly for this Turkish club, but speculated that other proposals could come from Europe, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, or the United States, while clarifying that he has no specific information on the player's intentions. The striker, who joined Marseille in July 2025 and has 83 caps and 40 goals for Gabon, has also been linked with other Turkish clubs such as Trabzonspor, Beşiktaş, and Fenerbahçe. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €2.5 million.
