Paris Saint-Germain has a concrete interest in Karim Coulibaly, an 18-year-old German and Ivorian defender from Werder Bremen. Clubs from England and Spain are also monitoring him. Representatives from the Parisian club have contacted the centre-back and had preliminary discussions regarding a potential transfer. It is reported that PSG scouts have watched Coulibaly on multiple occasions. He is a primary target for coach Luis Enrique for the upcoming season. Werder Bremen has not yet received an official offer.
Coulibaly's contract, which was extended last summer, runs until 2029 and does not include a release clause. A summer transfer is considered highly probable. German media have reported that a preliminary agreement for a sale exists between Werder director Clemens Fritz and Coulibaly's agent. The club has reportedly rejected a €20 million offer and expects a fee between €40 and €45 million. This fee would make Coulibaly the most expensive player in the club's history, exceeding the record from Diego's €27 million transfer to Juventus in 2009. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €22.00m. In the 2025/2026 Bundesliga season, Coulibaly has made 21 appearances and scored 1 goal. He has not yet played for Germany U21.
