Owen Goodman, a 22-year-old on-loan Crystal Palace goalkeeper with Canadian and English nationality, has moved to Dundee. Alistair Johnston influenced this decision and helped persuade Goodman to join the Scottish Premiership club. Goodman confirmed that before speaking with Dundee manager Steven Pressley, he messaged Johnston to ask for his opinion on the league and about the experience of playing against Dundee.
Johnston's feedback was reportedly all positive, describing the league as being very good and Dundee as being a good club. This feedback convinced Goodman to play and develop at Dens Park for the season. The choice was important for the player following previous disappointing loan spells at Huddersfield Town and Barnsley. Goodman has yet to be capped by Canada, and Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €550k.
