According to Ekrem Konur, Bayer Leverkusen is preparing a contract extension with improved terms for Ibrahim Maza. The 20-year-old Algerian international, who also has German nationality, has earned 21 caps for his country and currently has a contract with Bayer until June 30, 2030. The purpose of reviewing his contract conditions is to reflect his progress and the market interest in him. This interest includes links to Manchester United, Atlético Madrid, Manchester City, and Arsenal. Maza joined Leverkusen from Hertha BSC in July 2025 for a €12 million fee. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is €45.00m. Reports from September 2026 indicated that Bayer Leverkusen would ask for a fee between €65 million and €70 million for the player. These reports also stated that the club had rejected a €50 million bid from Manchester City and a €35 million offer from Atlético Madrid earlier in 2026.
