Nottingham Forest are seriously pursuing 27-year-old Ghanaian international centre-back Jerome Opoku and face competition from his former club, Fulham. According to exclusive sources from Africafoot, Fulham has renewed interest in the player. A source within the player's agency, Aquarius, confirmed in an interview with Footy-Africa that Forest's interest is serious and that discussions are already underway with Başakşehir.
The source also stated that Sean Dyche personally advocated for the player at the transfer committee and that both clubs are preparing proposals. Fulham is reportedly preparing an offer for January, viewing Opoku as a low-cost option to strengthen its defence. Currently under contract with Basaksehir until 2027, Opoku is valued at 5 million euros and earns an annual salary of 310,000 euros in Turkey. Opoku, who joined the Turkish club in July 2024, has made 12 appearances in the Süper Lig this season and has 9 caps and one goal for Ghana.
