According to a Tuesday report from journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic, Newcastle is interested in Manchester City's 24-year-old midfielder, Nico González. The report also stated that Newcastle have inquired about the Spanish player's situation but have not yet made a formal approach.
González is under contract until June 2029. Despite his limited playing time, he has previously expressed a desire to fight for his place at Manchester City. The midfielder joined the club in February 2025 and has 11 caps for the Spain U21 team. His market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €40.00m. Atlético Madrid have also been reported as being interested in him.
