Newcastle United could renew their interest in 23-year-old Johan Bakayoko after a failed attempt to sign him in 2025. The Belgian winger has 18 caps and one goal for his country. He joined RB Leipzig last summer, and it is understood he would be open to a transfer to the Premier League.
Bakayoko, who mainly plays on the right wing, has a £52m release clause in his contract. Newcastle may look to negotiate a transfer fee below that figure due to his somewhat underwhelming start in Germany. RB Leipzig signed him from PSV in July 2025 for a fee reported to be between €18 million and €20 million. His current market value is €22.00m, according to Transfermarkt. Liverpool have also been linked with the player.
