FC Nantes, seeking to significantly reinforce its attack in its fight for survival, has targeted Othmane Maamma, a 20-year-old Watford winger who also holds French citizenship. Negotiations have started between the clubs for the young Moroccan player. On Sunday, it was also revealed that Maamma is a target for LOSC.
Maamma was named the best player at the last U20 World Cup and has prior Ligue 1 experience with Montpellier from over a year ago. He is appreciated by Moroccan coach Ahmed Kantari. The player wants to secure a move to improve his chances of being selected for the World Cup this summer. For Watford this season in the Championship, Maamma has made 16 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist. He is under contract with Watford until June 2029 and has 28 caps and 5 goals for Morocco's U20 team. His valuation on Transfermarkt is currently €1.30m. In January and February 2026, it was reported that Watford's asking price was more than €10 million.
