Dinamo has received an offer for 23-year-old Romanian midfielder Cătălin Cîrjan from MLS club Minnesota United and has entered into negotiations. The deal must be finalized quickly, as the transfer window in MLS closes on Wednesday, September 2, at 23:59.
Cîrjan, who is under contract until 2029, has previously attracted other offers, including one from Sturm Graz in the summer of 2025 which he rejected, and a proposal worth around €4 million from Metalist Harkov in the winter of 2026 that both the player and the club turned down. Regarding the current situation, Ionel Dănciulescu stated that Dinamo should not sell the player and expressed his belief that a transfer would not happen. Nicolae Dică also said he does not think the club should sell their captain, whom he considers a leader. The midfielder joined Dinamo in July 2024, has two caps for Romania, and has a current market value of €3.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
