Memphis Depay is being mentioned cautiously at Liverpool as an emergency solution after striker Alexander Isak suffered a broken fibula that will keep him out for months. It is reported that this situation is forcing the club to enter the transfer market. Depay is considered an option if Liverpool is unsuccessful in signing their main target, Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth. Atlético Madrid striker Alexander Sørloth is said to be another name on the club's list.
It is reported that the 31-year-old Depay would be open to helping Liverpool, partly because he is friends with Dutch players at the club such as Virgil van Dijk, Jeremie Frimpong, Ryan Gravenberch, and Cody Gakpo. Depay has a contract with his current club, Corinthians, until July 31, 2026. The Dutch international, who has 108 caps and 55 goals for his country, joined the Brazilian club in September 2024 and has a current market value of €8.00m according to Transfermarkt. Fenerbahçe has also been linked with the forward. Reports from October 2025 mentioned an estimated transfer fee of approximately €10 million. The player's most recent transfer with a fee was a €3.0M move from FC Barcelona to Atlético Madrid in January 2023.
