Leeds United are one of several Premier League clubs interested in RB Leipzig defender Lutsharel Geertruida, and several teams are in contact with the German club. Geertruida, who is 25, has been on a season-long loan at Sunderland. It has been confirmed that he will not remain at Sunderland, which had a €23m (£20m) purchase option. Liverpool, which explored signing him in January, has maintained its interest, while Aston Villa, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur, and Crystal Palace have also been monitoring him.

Leeds have been informed of the availability of the Dutch international, for whom he has 20 caps, and hold a genuine interest. It is understood that the club's connection to the Red Bull network has maintained communication. Clubs in Italy, Germany, France, and Spain have also made enquiries. Sources indicate that Leipzig is open to discussions about his future if a suitable offer is made. The defender joined RB Leipzig from Feyenoord in August 2024 for a fee of €20 million, and his contract with the German club is valid until 2029. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €20.00m. While Leeds consider their options, they have also held talks regarding a possible move for Ladislav Krejci, which sources describe as positive.
