Montenegrin international Adam Marušić, 33, has been proposed to Milan and Juventus due to difficulties in his contract renewal talks with Lazio. Manager Maurizio Sarri is asking for the renewal of his contract, but the parties remain distant in negotiations. The player wants a long-term deal, while club president Claudio Lotito is unwilling to offer more than a one-year contract with an option for a second.
The versatile defender, who can play on both the right and left flanks, is considered a good option for both clubs because they are searching for an experienced squad player. He would be available for a relatively low cost because he is set to be a free agent from June, although Lazio is reportedly still confident of reaching an agreement. Marušić joined Lazio in July 2017 and has made 13 appearances and provided one assist in Serie A this season. The defender has been capped 68 times by Montenegro, and according to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €3.50m.
