According to a report by Si Phillips, Frank Lampard is trying to reunite with former Chelsea player and English attacking midfielder Mason Mount at Coventry City, following the club's promotion to the Premier League. Lampard, who previously managed the 27-year-old at Derby County and then at Stamford Bridge, reportedly wants to work with him again. Mount joined Manchester United in the summer of 2023 in a deal with a reported value of £55 million, and has had limited playing time, partly due to injuries.

This season, he has started in 10 of his 20 Premier League appearances and has appeared as a substitute four times since Michael Carrick was appointed in January. Mount's contract at Old Trafford is valid until June 2028, and it is unclear what asking price would be set if Coventry attempts to sign him. The midfielder has 36 caps and 5 goals for England, and his current market value is €30.00m, according to Transfermarkt. Aston Villa and Fulham have also been linked with the player.
