As part of a strategy to increase their Italian contingent, Juventus have identified Giovanni Leoni, a 19-year-old Italian centre-back at Liverpool, as a player of significant interest among Italian players in the Premier League. The club has reportedly made an inquiry for a loan, but Liverpool was not open to the idea. Leoni is currently finalizing his recovery from a serious knee injury sustained last season.
Despite the initial setback, Juventus have maintained their interest in the player, and technical director Frederic Massara and sporting director Giovanni Ottolini intend to have him scouted continuously once he returns to playing. Leoni has seven caps for Italy, joined Liverpool in August 2025, and his contract runs until 2031. His current market value is €25.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
