Jordi Altena, a 22-year-old Dutch right back, is transferring from RKC Waalwijk to Hearts after half a season with the Dutch club. The Scottish league leaders will pay approximately one and a half million euros for Altena, who arrived at RKC on a free transfer from De Treffers in the summer. RKC Waalwijk has also negotiated a high sell-on percentage as part of the deal.
The transfer follows a first half of the season during which he contributed four goals and eight assists in 23 appearances. Altena had initially signed a contract with RKC until the end of this season, but the club extended it to the summer of 2028, which enabled them to ask for a higher transfer fee. According to Transfermarkt, the player has a current market value of €400k. He had also recently been linked with clubs such as Real Valladolid, DC United, and Union Saint-Gilloise.
