Houston Dynamo of the MLS is competing with other clubs for Pumas' Brazilian centre-back Nathan Silva, who is in the final stages of his contract with the Mexican team. Vasco has initiated discussions to sign the 29-year-old and made contact in recent days to assess a potential purchase. Pumas has presented a renewal offer to the player. Botafogo and Shabab Al-Ahli from the UAE are also competing for the player, and the negotiation is considered difficult.

Vasco previously attempted to sign Nathan Silva last August but did not reach an agreement. The defender, who has been capped twice for Brazil's U20 team, joined Pumas in July 2023 for a fee of €3.6m and has a current market value of €4.00m, according to Transfermarkt. In February 2026, an offer of approximately €1.7m from Botafogo was reportedly refused, while Vasco's previous interest in August 2025 reportedly involved offers that ranged from €4.0m to €5.5m.
