TSG Hoffenheim has made an offer of fifteen million euros for NEC's 22-year-old playmaker and Japanese central midfielder, Kodai Sano. NEC is currently considering the bid. The club had promised Sano it would cooperate with a transfer this summer, after a move to Ajax failed to materialize in the winter.
NEC wants to receive more money for the Japanese international, who has 2 caps for his country. Recent reports from June 2026 state NEC's asking price is around €20 million; in February 2026, the club allegedly rejected a bid of the same amount from Nottingham Forest and also turned down multiple offers from Ajax. Sano, who has a current Transfermarkt market value of €12.00m, contributed 3 goals and 7 assists in 34 Eredivisie appearances in the 2025/2026 season. His contract runs until mid-2028.
