Following the signing of Cucurella, Real Madrid has four left-backs and is looking to sell two of them. Spanish left-back Fran García, aged 26, was one of the players initially considered for a transfer, which has resulted in interest from LaLiga teams such as Real Betis.

However, the club's plans might be altered. According to journalist Simon Phillips in the British press, Chelsea has reportedly become interested in another Real Madrid left-back, Álvaro Carreras, potentially leading the club to sell Carreras and keep García instead. García, who has two caps for Spain, is under contract until June 2027 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €10.00m. In the 2025/2026 LaLiga season, he made 13 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. In January 2026, reports suggested Real Madrid could receive as much as €20 million from a sale; he joined the club from Rayo Vallecano in July 2023 for a fee of €5 million.
