In the statement, he denied any recent contact with the 33-year-old Brazilian attacking midfield player Neymar or his staff. This denial comes amid speculation about the player, whose contract with Santos is set to expire at the end of 2025. Bittencourt also stated that Fluminense has immense respect for Santos. He added that both Fluminense and the player are completely focused on finishing the current Brazilian Championship.
This is not the first time the player has been linked to the club. Bittencourt had previously revealed that he attempted to bring Neymar to Fluminense for the Club World Cup, an attempt that the player himself confirmed.
