Fluminense president denies Neymar approach

The club's president made an official statement denying any recent contact with the player or his staff.

Mário Bittencourt, the president of Fluminense, made an official statement on his X account on November 12. In the statement, he denied any recent contact with the 33-year-old Brazilian attacking midfield player Neymar or his staff. This denial comes amid speculation about the player, whose contract with Santos is set to expire at the end of 2025. Bittencourt also stated that Fluminense has immense respect for Santos. He added that both Fluminense and the player are completely focused on finishing the current Brazilian Championship.

This is not the first time the player has been linked to the club. Bittencourt had previously revealed that he attempted to bring Neymar to Fluminense for the Club World Cup, an attempt that the player himself confirmed. The Brazilian international has 128 caps and 79 goals for his country. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €11.00m. The player has also been recently linked with Inter Miami and Chicago Fire.
