Fenerbahçe coach Domenico Tedesco has requested a midfield reinforcement, and the club has been in contact with 34-year-old French international N'Golo Kanté, who plays for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. Kanté is the leading candidate for the position, but the transfer is contingent on the departure of Fred. This condition is in place as Tedesco reportedly does not include the Brazilian midfielder in his plans for the rest of the season.
Kanté, who has been capped 65 times for France, joined the Saudi club in July 2023 and has a contract until June 2026. In the current Saudi Pro League season, he has made 13 appearances and scored one goal. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €4.50m.
