Fenerbahçe, who are seeking to make U-23 transfers, have included 19-year-old Anglo-Nigerian Ethan Nwaneri among their targets. Galatasaray had also previously shown interest in the versatile player, who can operate on the wings or behind the striker. While Arsenal's manager, Arteta, had previously stated that the young footballer might remain with the team, that possibility has now diminished. A loan move for Nwaneri is considered a possibility, which would also be an economically beneficial arrangement for Fenerbahçe.

The England U21 international, who has 15 caps and 5 goals, has a contract with Arsenal until 2030 and a current market value of €35.00m according to Transfermarkt. Reports from summer 2026 suggested that Arsenal's asking price was approximately €45-60 million. It was also reported that AC Milan had a €40 million loan-with-option offer rejected.
