Dutch centre-back Stefan de Vrij, who will become a free agent this summer, was proposed to Fenerbahçe by managers. The club is looking for a center-back of at least Milan Skriniar's quality and has also initiated efforts concerning Marcos Senesi and Jose Gimenez. De Vrij is a player Skriniar knows well, as they played together in Inter's defense for five years. While Fenerbahçe's management has not yet officially responded to the proposal for the 34-year-old, it was noted that they are viewing the proposal positively.
The club's search for a defender is also linked to the expected summer departure of Jayden Oosterwolde. De Vrij has 77 caps and 4 goals for the Netherlands and has made 8 appearances in Serie A this season. His current Transfermarkt market value is €3.50m. Several other clubs, including Olympiakos Piraeus, Al Hilal, Newcastle United, and Nottingham Forest, have also been linked with the defender.
