It has been officially confirmed that IMT and 19-year-old Serbian winger Dušan Žagar have parted ways. The winger is joining Real Salt Lake in the MLS, with the club paying IMT a compensation of 2,000,000 EUR, which is the second-largest transfer in the selling club's history. The young player has signed a contract until the summer of 2029 that includes an option to extend for two more years. Real Salt Lake confirmed the transfer on their website, where they also published a statement from Žagar. In the statement, Žagar expressed that it was an honor and a dream come true to join and that he was ready to give his best for the team.
Kurt Schmid, the head of football operations at Real Salt Lake, also commented on the transfer, stating that Žagar's rising career led them to compete with several other clubs for his signature. Schmid added his belief that their club's developmental track record with other players made it an appealing environment for Žagar. In the 2025/2026 season, Zagar made 26 appearances and scored one goal in the Super liga Srbije. He has previously been a Serbia U17 Champion. His current market value is €400k, according to Transfermarkt.
