Corinthians is observing Zenit's 28-year-old Brazilian central midfielder, Gerson, but a permanent transfer is considered unlikely. The team from São Paulo is instead considering a loan for the player. The Brazilian club is reportedly using its good relationship with the St. Petersburg club in the discussions. This relationship was built on previous transfers, such as Zenit's acquisition of Pedro and Gustavo Mantuan from Corinthians. Gerson's current contract with Zenit is valid until the summer of 2030. The Brazilian international has 14 caps and one goal for his country. He joined the club in July 2025 and has scored one goal in 12 Premier Liga appearances this season.
Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €18.00m. Other clubs, including Cruzeiro and Palmeiras, have also been associated with a potential transfer for him. According to reports from December 2025, Zenit asked for €15-18 million plus a player in negotiations with Cruzeiro. In October 2025, Zenit's asking price to Palmeiras was reportedly €25 million.
