Cagliari are urgently looking to strengthen their attack after season-ending injuries to Andrea Belotti and Mattia Felici left the team with limited options up front. One name being considered is Bosnian-Herzegovinian international Edin Džeko of Fiorentina, who is also a target for Genoa, where his friend De Rossi is.
It is reported that Cagliari is approaching the potential transfer with caution due to Džeko's age, which is almost 40, and a difficult season he has had with the Viola, having recorded no goals or assists in 11 Serie A appearances. It is not ruled out that Director of Sport Guido Angelozzi might pursue this as a final option if no more convincing alternatives become available. Džeko's contract with Fiorentina expires on June 30, 2026. He has 146 caps and 72 goals for Bosnia-Herzegovina, and his current market value is €1.60m, according to Transfermarkt.
