Several English clubs, including Brighton & Hove Albion, Brentford, and Leeds United, are monitoring Le Havre's 23-year-old captain, Arouna Sangante, who is a Senegalese and Guinea-Bissau national. West Ham United came close to signing the player during the last week of the winter transfer window, but the deal did not proceed after manager Nuno Espirito Santo chose a more experienced player instead. The London club's interest is reported to remain, and they may revisit the option in the summer 2026 window.
Africafoot reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach had also expressed interest a few weeks ago. Sangante joined Le Havre in July 2021 and has a contract until June 2026. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €8.00m. In the 2025/2026 Ligue 1 season, he has made 18 appearances and scored one goal. Reports in January 2025 indicated Le Havre was asking for approximately €5 million for the player.
