Birmingham City manager admits Kyogo Furuhashi is frustrated amid Celtic links

Rumours of a transfer back to Celtic have emerged for the Japanese striker.

Chris Davies, the manager of Birmingham City, has admitted that the 30-year-old Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi is frustrated with his situation at the club, acknowledging it has been a tough season for the striker. Furuhashi joined last summer after a six-month spell at Stade Rennes and has scored one goal for Birmingham City. The rumours of a move back to Celtic coincide with the club's search for a new forward during the winter window.

Pundit Andy Halliday, commenting on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, stated he does not think Celtic would refuse an opportunity to bring Kyogo back. Halliday suggested the player would be an improvement on their current options, but also questioned if the forward has the right profile for Wilfried Nancy’s system. The forward has 23 caps and 5 goals for Japan, is under contract at Birmingham until June 2028, and has a current market value of €6.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
