Charlton Athletic and Dundee are in advanced talks for a deal involving the French and Cameroonian defender Billy Koumetio. The 23-year-old centre-back is expected to return to England. He has been an important player for Dundee in the Scottish Premiership for the past two years. The potential move comes despite Koumetio having signed a contract extension in May that would keep him at Dens Park until June 2027.
Prior to joining Dundee permanently in 2024, Koumetio was part of Liverpool's youth system. It is reported that Charlton Athletic sees the defender as a way to strengthen their defensive unit and add more depth as they prepare for the upcoming Championship season.
