Following its interest in Grimaldo, Beşiktaş has reportedly directed its attention toward another Bayer 04 Leverkusen player, 27-year-old defender Edmond Tapsoba. The Burkina Faso international, who has 60 caps and 4 goals for his country, is a new addition to the club's list of targets. Tapsoba, who joined the club in January 2020, has a contract with Leverkusen that runs until 2028, but his future is considered uncertain.

Clubs such as Manchester United and Real Madrid have also been linked with him. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €35.00m. Reports from early 2026 indicated a release clause of up to €100 million. It has also been suggested that Leverkusen could negotiate a sale for around €60 million. A reported offer of approximately €58 million was made by Newcastle United in July 2025.
