Aris has reached a full agreement with Rangers for the acquisition of John Souttar, having reached terms with both the Scottish club and the player. The 29-year-old Scottish international central defender, who was part of Scotland's 2026 World Cup squad, is expected to arrive in Thessaloniki soon, possibly on Sunday. He is set to undergo the necessary medical examinations and then sign a three-year contract.
Souttar, who has earned 24 caps and scored 2 goals for his country, joined Rangers in July 2022. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €2.00m. Before the deal with Aris, he had been linked with clubs including West Ham United and Leicester City. In July 2026, reports indicated that Rangers were demanding a seven-figure fee, which was over €1.2 million, for the defender.
