Al Ittihad has submitted a proposal to Olympique de Marseille for the 30-year-old Moroccan Centre-Back Nayef Aguerd, which involves a loan with an obligation to buy. The offer from the Saudi club is structured to meet the financial requirements of Marseille. Marseille wants approximately 12 million euros for a permanent transfer, and the structure of the offer could potentially allow for a quick agreement.
Other clubs are also involved. Al Sadd's pursuit of the player has been complicated by administrative sanctions that prevent the club from registering new players. Real Sociedad is also a possibility and has proposed a loan with a purchase option that is not obligatory, or a staggered payment plan. Despite the interest from the Gulf, it is reported that the player's priority is to stay in Europe, as he wishes to return to LaLiga and play for Real Sociedad. The defender, who has 64 caps for Morocco, joined Marseille from West Ham in September 2025 for €23 million, having previously moved to the English club from Rennes in July 2022 for €35 million. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €15.00m.
