Ajax has shown interest in Artem Dovbyk, who appears to be surplus to requirements at AS Roma. The interest is linked to Ajax's new manager, Míchel, who previously coached the 28-year-old Ukrainian striker at Girona during the most successful season of his career. It is reported that Míchel is convinced he can help the player perform at his highest level again. So far, Ajax is the only club that has made an inquiry for the player.
Trainer Gian Piero Gasperini does not object to a transfer, but Roma hopes to receive 23 million euros for the forward, whom they previously bought for 38.5 million euros. Dovbyk joined Roma in August 2024, and his contract is valid until 2029. The forward has 41 caps and 11 goals for Ukraine. His current market value is €15.00m, according to Transfermarkt. In the 2025/2026 Serie A season, he has made 14 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist. Other clubs, such as Beşiktaş, Real Betis, and Villarreal, have also been linked with the player.
